Founder & President

Chris Conover

Fee-only fiduciary adviser. Builder of Hudson Companies. Partner to families who want clarity under complexity — including athlete households navigating attention, income, and long-term wealth.

Chris has more than 30 years of investment management experience, including more than a decade on Wall Street with Guardian Life Insurance and Van Eck Global before founding Hudson in 2008. What stuck with him was not product. It was the gap: institutional investors received depth, research, and proactive counsel; individual families often received a sales process dressed up as advice.

He formed Hudson to close that gap — so families and athletes could access serious planning and portfolio discipline without surrendering the relationship to a call center or a product shelf.

Why families trust Athlete GM

Locker rooms and family tables. Same standard as the boardroom.

Chris presents regularly to Division I and Power 4 university athletic departments on athlete wealth, NIL readiness, and financial decision-making. Hudson maintains relationships with more than 100 NCAA Division I programs — bringing the same counsel into athletic department settings and family meetings that private-wealth clients expect in the boardroom.

Standard

Fiduciary, always

Fee-only advice through an SEC-registered investment adviser. We do not take deal commissions.

What Athlete GM is

Not an Agent. The General Manager.

Athletes do not need another hype machine. They need someone who will protect the balance sheet, slow down bad decisions, and build a plan that still works when the jersey changes.

Structure the money

Turn income into a cash-flow system: taxes, savings, lifestyle, and reserves before lifestyle expands to the edges.

Build the long book

Investment policy sized for a short peak-earning window and a long life after competition.

Support the family unit

Parents and athletes get the same fiduciary standard — clear roles, fewer surprises, better decisions under pressure.

Boundaries that protect you

We are not your agent. We are not your attorney. We do not take deal commissions. We coordinate with agents, CPAs, and counsel when it helps you. We do not negotiate endorsement contracts — we help you manage who does.

How Chris advises

Fee-only. Fiduciary. Always. Goals and cash flow before product conversation. Long-term portfolio discipline — no performance theater. Tax, estate, and family dynamics in the same room as investments. Plain language. Written plans. Honest tradeoffs.
